Gold miners have had a rough ride in recent months due to the slide in gold prices. In fact, gold miners have been hit more by the precious metal?s slide than the metal itself. From October 1 last year through April 29, the SPDR Gold Trust was down 17.4%, but the Market Vectors Gold Miners (GDX) ETF was down 44%.
