Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States and National Radon Month aims to educate the public and reduce the number of people that are actually effected by radon. With one in fifteen homes having elevated radon levels, educating people about the importance of testing their homes for radon is a big focus during National Radon Month.
